Is eBay still a good place to make money online?
I have heard it from a number of you that you have heard through the grapevine that eBay is no longer a good place to make money for your online business. Well let me set the record straight right here and now. In trying to pinpoint how these rumors get started I always end up with the same response. “Well a friend of mine told me that a friend of his told him that some guy had to stop selling on eBay because his sales were so bad” It is always some guy or gal, never any hard data backed up with numbers and stats! Stop listening to the STUPED RUMORS! eBay is still one of the best places to sell your products on the internet today. It is absolutely true that sales are down from what they were 2 years ago, but that is true for all retail sales both online and in brick and mortar stores. The fact is that online sales have not seen as big a hit as the conventional retailers, in fact most online retailers like Amazon and eBay have actually seen increases in certain niche areas and specialty products. So if your eBay sales are down what should you do? Blame eBay? Or take a good hard look at your marketing methods online.

Two reasons why your online sales may be down
If your website or eBay sales are down you are not alone; most online sellers have seen a drop in sales activity with the slowing economy and the buying public cutting back on spending. But there may be other reasons at play also, in fact there are two primary reasons why you may not be getting the sales volume you should. Number one is that you may not have the right product to be selling during a down economy? After all people are still spending money, they are just very selective as to the type of products they are buying. Find out what they are and sell those. The second and most common reason why sales are down is because your website or eBay listings may not be properly optimized? A lack of or poorly done SEO or search engine optimization is the #1 reason why items DO NOT SELL online or on eBay. In fact 90% of all eBay store listings and website listing are done WRONG, and that is something you can correct. Take a good look at all your listing, or ask for advice from an experienced seller.
