The answer is yes, if you do it right. We have all heard the stories or know of someone who spent tons of money on a website only to go broke because no one could ever find their website and they never made any sales. So to make money with a website you must follow the same proven steps that you would use in creating and building a brick & mortar type store. First create your blueprint, write down on paper what your website will look like, such as the home page, other page, ecommerce store with a shopping cart, a blog, etc. Next create it using free or low cost online web building applications. Now after your website is complete then you can optimize it and submit your site to the dozens of search engines online. I use a low cost application called SEV Search Engine Visibility. But before you can get started building your websites you need URL address first, this address is what we call a website Domain Name.
Step number one in making money online is to get a website. In fact the more websites you have the more you can earn for two reasons. First you want a website that specializes in a product or service that others can find with the online search engines such as Google. Having a website address domain name that tells the world what you sell is very important. As an example a website domain name like www.freds-fishing-tackle-store.com is much better and would be found by the Google search engines easier than say www.freds-enterprises.com. So after you have determined what type of products or service you are offering write down several appropriate domain names you like then do your Domain name search to see which ones are available. Adding a dash or hyphen is not only an easy way for people to read your domain name but it is also smart because the search engine spiders can find the key words quickly in your website address. The second reason to have multiple website is that you can create links to your other websites. This is a little known secret among SEO webmasters is that the more links you have to your websites the higher your Google search ranking will be.
